Dorothy Moore, President Of the class of '49 Is a bookkeeper in Cairo. She's really doing fine. Donna Brown, a career girl, In life, as in school, A good bouncing secretary, That's strictly the rule, Charles Wallace, an expert In chorus and band. With hi very own Woodchucks He's touring the land. Betty Bishop, the journalist As bright as can be, Fooled us all by her column In Washington, D. C. Alice Ann Capen, her life-long Ambition attained, She's flying the airways- As stewardess she's trained, Bob Spence, a good mechanic. He's known as the best- Respected in our town And throughout the Midwest. John Connelly, the one who Always had fun. As a New York contractor, There's a job to be done. Then there's Melba Red Coffman, Oklahoman by heart. She's gone back to Fort Sill- Says she never will part. Dorothy Shain, home-maker- But, oh what a change! As owner of Dotty's Your hair she'll arrange. Johnny Pace, a real gunsmith. He's an expert, the best- He's fixed every Winchester That's out of the West. Ed Monty Montgomery, An oil man by trade Made a boom in Oklahoma- A million he's made. Tommy Eubanks and Company That's how he's known here. He's Mayor of Omaha In place of his peer. Paul Campbell, Kentuckian, Has finally gone back. An expert horse trainer, A whiz on the track, Donald Riley has made All his high hopes pan out. He's our Farm Adviser, Knows what he's about. Lowel Lamb is quite happy Successful, as well. As a Hollywood producer, He's really doing well. Bill Huffstuttler decided To travel around. As a foreign correspondent Contentment he's found. Gene Whipple has made A career in the air. He's an ace in the air corps- How's the weather up there? Then there's Wallace Campbell A star here at home, Now he's Scoaching at Harvard- As the chief he is known.
9 + THE GARDINAL SENIOR CLASS PROPHECY Sammy Porter is famous At home and away. A star in television The best of our day. Pauline Campbell decided On a restaurant career, Owns a chain of Green Mills Both far and near. Cletus Hedger, a hunter Loves Magnolia blossoms. He's gone down to Dixie,- Watch out, little 'possums. Lewis Johnson, a big shot In railroad and banking. As a business promoter At the top he is ranking. fContinuedJ Peggy Boyd had discovered She likes Western air- Owns some land out in Texas, Has a dude ranch out there. Eddie Bruce is a crooner, A rival to Bing. All the girls nearly swoon When he starts to sing. Virginia Midkiff at last Her career realized. She's teaching at Lexington, Says the job satisfies. That's all of the class. Not so bad, we'll confess. Four years ago the Sophisticated Seniors , as we like to be called, were just some little acorns into which great oaks grow. We elected as club officers: President, Charles Wilsong Vice-President, Lewis Johnson 5 Secretary-Treasurer, Betty Lou Bishop, The class enrollment was twenty-eight. Our representatives on the Student Council were Betty Gerdes, Dorothy LaVerne Moore, and Bob Spence. The next year, as Sophomores, we had an increased enrollment of thirty-two. Class officers chosen were: President, Bob Spenceg Vice-President, Betty Gerdesg Secretary-Treasurer, Melba Coffman. On the Student Council we were represented by Dorothy LaVerne Moore, Mary Margaret Downen, and Edward Montgomery. Donna Brown and Melba Coffman were chosen as Cheerleaders by the Pep Club. We were now Juniors and progressing steadily. Our enrollment had decreased to twenty but that did not discourage our ambition to be leaders in the school. The high-light of the year, of course, was preparation for an enjoyment of the Junior- Senior Banquet and Prom. Capable class officers chosen were: President, Dorothy LaVerne Mooreg Vice-President, Wallace Campbell: Secretary-Treasurer, Betty Gerdes, Members of the Student Council were: Betty Lou Bishop, Alice Ann Capen, and Johnny Pace. Seniors at last! Our happy school days are almost finished. Class leaders chosen this year are: President, Dorothy LaVerne Mooreg Vice-President, Virginia Midkiffg Secretary-Treasurer, Alice Ann Capen. Student Council members are Betty Lou Bishop, Charles Wallace and Peggy Boyd, Five members of the Varsity Basketball team come from the Senior Class. They are: Paul Campbell, Bill Huffstuttler, Lowell Lamb, Wallace Campbell and Lewis Johnson. Donna Brown and Melba Coffman are still being the peppiest cheerleaders. Faculty members who have guided us throughout the year successfully and faithfully are Miss -Forchee and Mr. Larson.
