For twenty years, the Normandy School District has been fortunate to have the services ot an able educator. His leadership over the past thirteen years has been instrumental in maintaining Nor- mandy High School' s continuous pursuit of excel- lence. He has encouraged sound innovation and has fostered creative teaching by a competent staff. Because he has served various educational organizations, his influence has spread out over the state and the nation. Perhaps he is best known as the long-time president of the Missouri High School Athletic Association. Last tall the North Central Association recognized his work and con- tributions by naming him a member of a team to study and evaluate governmentschools in England and in Germany. Although an educator with credentials, his personal qualities are more important. Former Normandy students look back on him as an indivi- dual who knows them by name, a person who is approachable, easy to talk with. They remember him as one who is vitally interested in Normandy High School and its students. He can nearly al- ways be found at dances, assemblies, PTA, Mothers Club, rehearsals, and games. Student Council has always appreciated his help in its undertakings. Not much goes on around Normandy without his aware- ness. Because he is a fine administrator and has done much for Normandy High School, because he has a Smile and a kind word for everyone, because he has been dedicated to Normandy and its students, we dedicate the 1967 SAGA to our principal, Mr. C.E. Potter.
