It was a bright, sunny day in Dallas, a day that was destined to become infa- mous. On this Nov. 22, 1963, one bullet, in one second, took the life of President John Fitzgerald Kennedy. With this vile act the United States and the entire world lost one of the most dedicated men in his- tory. His dedication and devotion ex- tended beyond our country' s shores to the far ends of the globe. To him, the high- est aim of all mankind was to have peace on earth, good will toward men. He real- ized that, We in this country, in this generation, are--by destiny rather than choice--the watchmen on the walls of world freedom. This world freedom, peace, and equality for all men were his ever-present goals--goals that he knew were not too high for all men to attain if they worked together. It is in admiration for this man and his goals, that we dedicate this, the 1964 SAGA, to John Fitzgerald Kennedy. He was our President and a world leader, yes, but he was much more. He was a statesman, ambassador, soldier, father, husband, and friend. There was a close- ness between him and all people. Through- out his life he showed us what unselfish- ness, untiring work, devotion, love, and hope are. Above all, however, President Kennedy gave a precious gift to all man- kind. This gift should forever be remem- bered and is perpetualized by his words: Ask not what your country can do for you-- ask what you can do for your country. iggmi . ..., Q f in V X , , Erfsrxfifw 2V?gfQw5f'f'i as .Q A ,, Jqrlu-F ,-I -. . . . .. -L., 1 - 5 1 - . ,,A. ..:..1..
