Del Gmudio The Normandy Senior High School can justly be proud of the academic excellence of its facultyf-ff several have their doctorate degrees and over half their masters' degrees. This achievement of the faculty and the well-planned curriculum helped Normandy achieve a AAA rating from the state of Missouri. Throughout the year the faculty strove to work together through its eight main departments to plan better programs for the students of Nor- mandy. The scope of the program was broad in order to insure participation by the student in a maximum variety of constructive experiences. It was flexihle in order to permit more individual responsibility and freedom for the more mature students and to enable them to carry on work in their own fields of interest at their own levels. Normandy's Parent-Teacher Association pro- vided common grounds for parents and teachers to discuss co111111o11 problems. Lead by Mr. Harry Vtfeeks, all cominittees brought forth various and interesting problems and possible solutio11s. Sandy Kilker, student representative, attended each meet- ing and expressed the student hodyis point of view. Showing itself to be a vital part of the schoolis life, the P.T.A. put on the successful operetta, Bl'1:g0!Z00l1, for the school scholarship and loa11 fund. seal, Headed by Mrs. Rush McAdam, the lVlother's Club succeeded in promoting closer co-operation among the parents, pupils and teachers. Among other things, this year's lVIother's Club sponsored an Open House at the new Senior High Building in September, and in March, the n1others Were invited to visit a classroom of their choice. Again Motheris Club showed itself to be an im- portant and active participator in Normandy High Schoolis life.
