P b Ing Latnery 61-Visor, Ms. Maldonado 5 1984-1985 5 1988-1989 Distinguished Occupational Education Teacher State Education Department 1988 Three Time Award Winner Milagros Maldonado has been designated Manhattan High School Teacher of the Year. Maldonado, a member of the Secretarial Studies Depart- ment at Norman Thomas High School, re- ceived the same honor in 1985, and just this year was named Distinguished Occupational Teacher for New York State. A graduate of the same school in which she teaches, Ms. Maldonado feels that her role at her Alma Mater is special and unique. She has served as Admissions Counselor, grade advisor, and occasionally tap dance instructor for school shows and assemblies. For the past five years, she has been selected by the Senior Class as their graduation leader. Ms. Maldonadds other achievements in- clude nominations for the Woman of Con- science Award, sponsored by the National Council of Women, and Certificate of Com- mendation from NASA for her contribution to the Teacher-In-Space Program.
