Among other activities, the Chorus sings for many organizations in the Norman area. The Speech classes make use of the auditorium regularly, practicing volume speak- ing. Our Band brings home many honors from the contests they attend. Nearly every day one can hear the grunts and groans of the students in the Physical Education Department, while they are working toward the goal of complete physical fitness. 18

Vocational Courses Prepare Students Of the courses offered at NHS, Vocational courses prepare the students for the outside world of business and financial management. They help students to learn to cooperate with others, be dependable in leadership and in service. Faithful Staff Maintain School’s Services “That Mr. Young knows I can’t take a quarter and a five cent stamp for that lunch,” thinks Mrs. Lou O’Pry, cashier, as Mrs. Lucille Willard works on. “Honest, Mr. Daniel, we weren’t sweeping the dirt under the waste basket. Important to the proper functioning of Nor- man High arc the cafeteria workers and the custodians, two groups dedicated to serving NHS. The great job of feeding many hungry stu- dents each dav is efficiently met by capable women, highly trained for this purpose. Responsible for waxing and sweeping the halls, cleaning rooms, and heating the school arc the custodians. This demanding job when done well is most appreciated and pleasantly accepted by the faculty and students of our fine school. The cafeteria workers were.
