MRS. HAZEL WILLIAMS Dedication As students retrace their high school years, there is one teacher who is particularlv remem- bered. 1'hrough her inspiration, a greater de- sire for knowledge is kindled, and learning becomes an adventure. She sponsors an organi- zation in Norman High which has a limited membership; but because of her influence, each year the membership increases. Resides devoting her time to Norman High as a teacher, she gives, also, as a person. At all school-sponsored ac- tivities, she is seen unselfishly spending her time as a chaperone. If ever she finds a student having difficulty in her courses, she’s ready to aid, not as a teacher, but as someone “just trying to help.” From students she receives the respect a teacher merits, the esteem of an admired person, and the affection and warmth of a true friend. Now, we, the yearbook staff, dedicate the 1962 Trail to the teacher who is fondly known as “the ruler of the w est corridor,” Mrs. Hazel Williams. [5]

Along with this school year came another State Championship cup for our foot- ball team, and more victorious records for all our other sports. A new tradition was begun by the elec- tion of the first All-Sports Queen and an All-School Queen. The talent in NHS was highlighted by the All-School Talent Show and the production of the All-School Musical, “Oklahoma!” Again the Junior Class excelled as they produced a magnificent Junior- Senior Prom. And now, at the end of the 1962 school year, as the Juniors and Sophomores gaze into their remain- ing years at NHS they see the scholarship, the ac- complishments, and the excitement which will be theirs. The Seniors take a last look at their highschool career, and begin making plans for an even greater future. Though each individual has much to look forward to, 1962 has truly been a “Year Without End. [4]
