CLASS PROPHECY As we look into the Crystal ball, the year of 1970 rolls up. We see that many interesting changes have occurred. We see Mrs. Betty Knight Bryant hectically dividing her time between part time duty as a staff nurse in the Emergency Room at Louise Obici Hospital, and a full-time job managing her four rambunctious sons, with Walter's help. Miss Carolyn Richardson, Operating Room Supervisor at Portsmouth Naval Hospital, is functioning most efficiently. She is the instigator for piping in stereo hi-fidelity music into the operating roomg thereby increasing the efficiency of the sur- geons. As a result, they are now saving two sutures a week. Mrs. Tanya Dew Brothers is now enjoying life down on the farm with her husband and three children, 100 chickens, 2 cows, 4 pigs, 1 dog, 1 cat and 6 kittens. She is also known throughout the county as a Blue Ribbon winner for her cooking ability. Looking further, we see Miss Jean Bennett doing the hula on the beach of Waikiki, relaxing in her off duty hours. She has just been promoted to captain in the United States Air Force Nurses Corps. As we look d.own the main street in a large city, we spot Mrs. Frances Marriner Hine coming towards us. She is now working in two capacities, dividing her time between her home and Public Health nursing. She has at last found a job in which nursing and social work correspond, but let's not forget the aching feet. There's acloudy area inthe center of our globe, but looking closer,we see out in Salt Lake City, Utah that Mrs. Rose Brady Lamb is supervisor of the Nursery in a general hospital. 'She is happily married and in the process of rearing a set of lively twins. Miss Geraldine Mister has once again decided that it's time to return to school for further education in nursing. She has enrolled at Columbia University where she is working towards her B.S. degree. She still has a strong attraction for good 'ole Eastern Shore. We wonder just what that special attraction really is ! ! l Miss Kay Cox,head nurse on Pediatrics at Norfolk General Hospital, has just returned from abroad where she has been teaching other Pediatric hospitals the concepts of team nursing. It seems as though she has finally decided to get married and settle down, but the crystal ball is hazy and fades out at this point, leaving us in doubt. Geraldine Mister and Kay Cox 35
