From eight in the morning until the four-twenty curfew in the afternoon, students are there studying, reading, doing research work, or just browsing and listening to records. Frequently, small groups hold meetings and discussions there. The student staff is responsible for much of this activity for by their careful handling of the routine tasks, they make it possible for the Librarian and Library Council Moderator, Sister Agatha, to devote more time to professional duties and to reading guidance. l have observed the projects that have been undertaken by the Council-the Casey project of supplying books for a needy Philippine school, book displays for the Family Book Fair, February Book Week Assem- bly, the annual book gift to the library. the worthwhile monthly meetings, the loyalty to daily routine tasks-and all of them show the generous qualities of mind and heart, the initiative and sense of responsi- bility being developed by these club members. I note the achievements for the whole student body being realized by their sharing of the burden and I look down with pride upon this group so zealously working for the school under my patronagf? The Library Council of Norfolk Catholic High.
