Twenty-five, thirty, thirty, twen- ty-five, thirty - Sold! to number 126. Thank you, ma'am. The sounds of Field Day, a 91-year NA tradition and a two-day extra- vaganza of food and fun for adults and students alike. Aye, matey, this was the year for pirate booty, a vacation in St. Croix, or a chest of gold for lucky auction- goers on Friday night. The excite- ment continued on Saturday, with the annual 5-K Ftun and the Sun- rise Breakfast for Country Store enthusiasts. 9:30, the magic hour, when hundreds of people swarmed into the Burroughs Gym to hunt for treasure, crafts, and all types of food. And when 11 :00 came. the laughter emanat- ing from the Midway drew hun- dreds of spectators and partici- pants to see the wonders wrought by the Middle School students and their game booths. Only the role-reversal Dunk the Masters game could outdo the fascination of the other events. For faculty, administration, and select seniors, the Dunk has become a foregone conclusion. For excited ballthrowers, dousing a favorite teacher was the culmination of many months of eager planning. For the more sedate, the auditori- um offered two performances of the pirate play put on by Lower School mates. Also in attendance was Dave Checcino, back for his yearly stint as auctioneer. As 3:00 drew near, sights were set on the moment of truth, the all- important ticket drawing. As everyone sat poised with lists of numbers and tickets spread out, the drawing began and lucky win- ners came to claim their various prizes.
