Although this year's C Team wound up winning but one league game out of eight, and tied for last place, the players received a lot of experience and should be a real asset to the varsity in a few seasons. The highlight of the season came on February 4 when the Rangers staged a fourth quarter rally and came from behind to defeat the Thacher Cowboys by the score of 30-23. At the end of the season the team got together and elected Bill Bowie as captain. These boys should improve as the years go on. Bill Bowie is being congratulated by Coach Gartrell on his being elected captain.

Phil Freeman, Ralph McBride Baseball came a long way at Nordhoff this year, as the Rangers showed one of the most spirited teams it has ever had. Coached by Fred Linkenhelt and Herb Smith, newcomers at Nordhoff, the Rangers got off to a flying start by defeating the Ventura j.V.'s in a thriller by a score of 10-7. Although having to take the bitter with the sweet during the rest of the season, the Ranger baseball team showed great promise of things to come in future years, being loaded with freshman, sophomore, and junior talent, and having only two graduating seniors on this year's squad, Ralph McBride and Phil Freeman. All in all, one might say that Nordhoff had a successful baseball season.
