Dowd, Mr. Howard Bliss. .c'ea'a:azde?4wlzq Graduation for the seniors is more than the end of four years at Nordhoff. It is the beginning of a new life in which we will use every day the knowledge we gained from our teachers. A few years ago we didn't pay much attention to this fact, but today it be- comes an important reality which we must consider. This is why I, speaking for the Class of 1955, wish to thank our teachers for the time and effort they have spent guiding us during our years at high school and preparing us for the future. On behalf of the editors of the Topa Topa, I wish also to express appreciation to all the faculty members for their cooperation with the annual staff. Later on in life, when we look back on our school days, we shall realize even better how important a part our teachers played in our education. CAROL DIEGES Faculty Editor 4- L we P it fs P' T

Dear Seniors, Class of 1955: By the time this message appears in print you will all have taken my Sociology class. This means that you know pretty well my philosophy of life, so I am left without much to say in this message. Most of you have spent four or more years at Nordhoff, during which time you have come in contact with a variety of students and faculty members. From these people you have received ideas, which in addition to your own, should give you a reasonable foundation for becoming a respon- sible working member of your community. I urge you, wherever you may be, to live up to your potentialities. Take part in community activities, join serv- ice clubs, and offer your services to youth organizations so that young people will be better for having come in contact with you. Be a positive force in your community -not a passive or negative one. If you do this you will be a real asset to your community, and the Nordhoff Union High School may well be proud of you. Sincerely, RUDOLPH H. DREWES Prim'ipf1l i-:M -, , ,J s-ft X ,-9 , If KN ni I gf! gfdlaccf-C'2-f MR. -I HN TAYLOR, our friendly and he ful Vice Principal, also teaches Civics to the seniors and is senior class advisor with Mr. Drewes.
