p y Q gi 'Q K, ff , .. ., Y-club was Norcross' new Christian founded organization. Their purpose was to promote moral qualities at Norcross and the community. Most activities of the Y-club were contained in their weekly Bible study at Mrs. Ramsey, the sponsor's house. Norcross' Debate Team worked hard this year in preparation for Literary competition in Debate. Points from this event were needed for the school ofthe Year Award. The sponsor, Mrs. Thomas, pushed the team to increase their chances for success. Vocational Opportunities Clubs of America at NHS was very active in fund raising and having fun. The students learned a vocation at school in this organization. In its second year, the Interact Club increased its services and became a more active group. Included in their activities were voter registration drives, volunteer work at home basketball games, elementary schools and the community. Mrs. Maddox, the sponsor of this all male club, guided these young men to help many people in need around Norcross. In May, they went to State Convention on Iekyll Island and learned much about Interact's purposes and goals, A pg. 172 .
