CENTRAL Central defeated Norcross, Z4-14, even though the Devils won the battle of statistics. Tim O'Malley once again started at quarterback and alternated with Elbert Manning. Both quarterbacks had a tremendously good passing game, 0'Malley completed 10-13, while Manning completed 5-12. On the receiving end, Taylor Lackey and Michael Harris with 7 and 5 receptions respectively. Manning led the rushers with 77 yards and Morris Harris scored on a Z1 yard reverse play. Taylor Lackey scored on a short pass for the second touchdown while Manning scored on a Z point conversion play. Even though Mike Scarbrough and Shelley Poole were out of the offensive line up, Norcross fared well against the Knight defense. The Devil defense also took a big blow at the start of the game, when starting linebacker Robbie Renno was injured on the opening kick-off. Casey Dunn and Billy Wallace soon met the challenge of leadership. Dunn had a key quarterback-sack in the fourth quarter. Wallace was also all over the offensive backs all night. NORTH HALL Norcross defeated its Homecoming opponent North Hall, Z8-0, as Regina Patterson reigned as Homecoming Queen, The defense was at their best as they got their first SHUT-OUT! of the season. Offensively the Devils were at their tops, too. Elbert Manning scored 3 touchdowns, including the opening kick-off for a 90 yard touchdown. The Devils racked up 205 yards passing with Tim o'Ma11ey completing 8-10. Morris Harris also scored on a 67 yard run. The defensive unit did a good job of holding the Trojans scoreless. Casey Dunn had a good night by recovering a fumble and sacking the quarterback twice. 123

The 1981 Blue Devil Football Season has proved to be a winning one. A winning season in more ways than one, as Norcross is proud to have five players make the All-County Team. These players are Tim O'Malley, Elbert Manning, Blake Beeson, Scott Teague, and Taylor Lackey. This is the most Norcross has ever had on the All-County Team. CONGRATULATIONS!! N ,my ,.. the WINDER The Devils defeated the Winder Bulldogs, 14-6, with Shelley Poole back in action. Poole gained 93 yards. Despite an injury early in the game quarterback Tim O'Malley completed 6-9 passes for 91 yards, including 1, 21 yard touchdown pass to Morris Harris. O'Malley scored on a yard run in the third quarter. Mike Harris caught 3 passes for 57 yards. Scott Teague led the defense with 9 tacklesg blocked an extra point and a field goal, caused a fumble and recovered a fumble. ETOWAH Norcross defeated Etowah in their last game of the season, and got their second SHUT-OUT! , 18-0. Early in the game Robbie Renno intercepted an Eagle pass to set up a touchdown. Tim O'Malley then hit Michael Harris with a 21 yard pass for the touchdown. The offense did not score again until late in the second half, Shelley Poole took a pitch-out around the right side for a touchdown. Tim O'Malley also scored on a 35 yard run. The defense did a good job of being in the right place at the right time. Robbie Renno intercepted a pass, and Mike Worthy recovered a fumble and O'Malley also intercepted a pass. This concluded the pg 122 Blue Devil 1981 Football Season and gave them a 6-4 record. x
