While studying works such as Macbeth and Paradise Lost, students are taught to relate these stories to their own lives. Many students will be heard to groan at the mention of the names Twain, Camus and Hawthorne, but everyone knows how important it is that these authors be read. It the Norco English department has taught students anything, it is how to recognize symbolism when they see it. Norco High English classes teach students to communicate clearly and effectively. FOREIGN LANGUAGE Our world is getting smaller every day and the need to communicate with people of other countries is vital to our country ' s well being. The Norco High foreign lan- guage department offers classes in two useful lan- guages. Mr. Hiestand, who lived and taught in France, teaches French. Ivlr. Taylor, a new teacher at NHS, teaches Spanish. Students also learn the history and culture of France, Spain, Mexico and Central America through many activities and projects throughout the year.
