CONVENTION The 1983 A. SB. nominating convention was a success. Everyone liked the chance to get rad in the gym. Ten advisories voted on candidates to be on the ballot for A.S.B. positions next year. The advisories were: Cool- heads, led by Daran Garcia; Obnoxious Brats, led by John Cowan; Square Pegs, led by Julienne Tummler; Rad Punkers, led by Randy Berry; Ski Catts, led by Parrish Parmely; The Spies, led by Susie DIouhy; The Mods, led by Lisa Borchers; Bum Squad, led by Jim Heitman; Norco Narks, led by Ellen Clem, and the Rockers, led by Russ Hamm. The pages were kept very busy passing notes. They were: Kelly Spinnler, Beverly VanderDussen, Missy Boutelle, Desiree Greer, Daria Knapp, Caria Almeida, Cindy Rhode, Stacy Dee, Tessa Ensley, and Lisa Hubbard. The sargeants-at-arms kept order by waving their machine guns and putting delegates into the corner if they got out of control. The sergeants-at-arms were: Arnold Jackson, Robert Gravelle, Matt Cook, David Vinlove, Rob Thompson, Jim Addison, Jeff Coker, Mike Kent and Richard Lopez. A big Thank you to David Davis, Monica Dee and the rest of the A.S.B. for a well run and fun convention. The fashion rage of the Bum Squad. Ben Flores. PING-PONG TOURNAMENT This year the ASB sponsored a Ping-Pong tournament that lasted for 2 V2 weeks. The singles tournament started on January 31 and went to February 4. Sixty-four people signed up to play. Dan Gondek came in first place, Jeff Gebow came in second place, with Eddie Hernandez and Russ Karns tied for third place. There were also two doubles tournaments: boys and girls. The doubles tournaments lasted from February 7 to February 15. 128 boys signed up for the boys doubles tournament. Mike Barney and Mike Salgado came in first place with Jim Emanuele and Skip McManus in second place. In the girls doubles tournament, 38 girls signed up. Kris Lindley and Monica McDowell came in first place, with Lisa Borchers and Katrina Meliwiki in second place. All of the contestants in the Ping-Pong tournament had lots of fun and enjoyed being competitive with each other. The Ping-Pong tournament was a very successful activity. Tessa Ensley and Lisa Cassidy play Monica McDowell and Kris Lindley. Kris Lindley and Monica McDowell play for the championship. Eddie Hernandez and Jeff Gebow compete for second place. Mr. McCollum finally gets his chance to play pmy pony .lyainst M Cunningham. Jim Emanuele and Skip McManus play for the boys doubles champion ship against Mike Barney and Mike Salgado. 68 The boys doubles champions-Mike Barney and Mike Salgado.
