Mr. Snow presents his speech contestants.... Baca Row Franklin, Hanna, Peter Front How watson, Klemesrud, Gregroy At the preliminary contest on February 10, Tack Watson and Darlene Hanna each received division II ratings Maralys Klemesrud, Marilyn Peter, Bill Gregory, and Linda Franklin all received division I ratings These four went on to pre drlstrict contest on February 28, and Maryalys, Marilyn, and B111 received a I rating on their declamatlons The next contest was the district contest held on Marcn 22 and 23, and since Linda Franklin received s II at pre district, she d1dn't advance to this contest with the other three Marilyn and B111 received I's with Maralys recelvi a division II At the final contest, the state contest, held at Storm Lake on April 20, Marilyn and B111 came home with top honors they each received a division I rating TI Conhs-I-qv,-ge These two students received a division I rating on their declamatlons at state speech contest Mar1lyn's reading came under the category of an oratorical declamation and was entitled 'Magnificent Obsession' Bill' reading was in the humorods division and was called 'To Be or Not To Be Our congratulations go to these speech students of 1956.
