FRESHMEN initiation The freshman initiation party was held Oct. 6, 1950. The freshman had certain clothing to wear all wee . On Friday they were dressed terrifically. The sophomore girls took tne fresnman girls down Friday morning to meet the Great Northern train at 4:44 A. W. The paddles were at hand tnen, also all day on Friday. Friday night at 3:00 o'clock, all tne fresnman were given their last surprise,The Big Feast. Some put up a great fuss not knowing what they were eating. After this they all went home and cleaned up and came oack for tne party. There was dancing to the music of Louie's Gang. Everyone had a good time, including the freshman, in ’whose honor the party was given. FRESHEN RETURN PARTY The Freshman Return Party was held on Friday, December 1, in honor of all tne sophomores. The gymnasium was attractively decorated in yellow and blue crepe paper. Dancing, games, and card playing wars enjoyed oy all. The music was furnished by Orland Rysgaard and Arlene Johnson, and we also had a few records played and recorded. The grand march was held around 10:30 for supper partners. A very good lunch was served by tne Fresnman class. It consisted of jello, picxels, potato salad, sand- wiches, co ce and cake. A large crowd attended, and I am told that everyone had a good time. CHRISTMAS PARTY The G.A.A. girls sponsored tne annual Christmas Party in the High School gym, on December 22. The program oegan at 11:00 A.M., when at this time every class put on a skit. The senior class was awarded one dollar for having the best sxit, which was entitled, The Thing. Tne four other classes all did very well with their skits, too. The exchanging of presents took place immediately after the program. Dancing was tne main diversion of the party. A e nad dinner at 12:00 which consisted of jello, sandwiches, potato salad, picides, catce, and then of course, pop. Nuts and candy were furnished oy tne teacners. QUEEN’S COURT Left to Right: Eleanor Anseth, Maxine Kostek, Eetty Darras, Darlene Witty, Becky Anseth, Steven Stakston CARNIVAL-1950 At the Annual Noonan High School Carnival held November 3, the gross receipts were $1008,24. The net was approximately 750. The program was a combination of variety acts given by the grade school, musical numbers by the sextet and glee club under the direction of Miss McCreary, and a one-act play entitled, Goodnight Caroline. The crowd was the usual sell out, with all available seats sold and standing room at a premium .Following the program, the seats were moved outside and con- cessions were opened. This year, the consisted of a Queen Booth, Hat and Coat Check, Fishing Pond, Annual Stand, Novelty Stand, Confetti Stand, Lunch Stand, Basketball Throw, Dart Game, Bingo, and Weight Guessing. At 12:00 a.m. the Queen's Court proceeded to the stage where coronation ceremonies under the direction of Gerald Vande Welle, Carnival chairman, took place. Betty Darras, the Sophomore cand- idate was named Queen, In her court were Eleanor Anseth, Senior candidate; Maxine Kostek, Junior candidate, and Darlene Witty, Freshman candidate. Arlene Johnson, the outgoing Queen offici- ated at the coronation. Next, drawings for $50 and $25 door prizes were made. SPONSORED BY TEXACO SERVICE STATION 22.
