More Than Just Good Athletes . . Most Valuable Players Perhaps the best way to define an MVP is to quote Coach Bob Briggs' statement at this year s Sports Banquet: The Most Valuable Player isn't necessarily the star athlete, he isn't the guy who gets the most points or who has the most assists. He's the athlete who can give up personal glory for the team. He is the player who shows leadership during games and practices, who works his tail oft and who plays as best he can for the good ot the team. , Q.: if ' 4 I ilu' . git, A .4 I wp? f l J MVPS in girl's sports: Chrissy Heinke-Tennis, Susanne Widmer-Soccer and Cross Coun- try, Missy Echevarria-Volleyball, Mary Morgan-Track, Claire Ashour-Basketball.
