The second was the sale of pizzas. The money was used to go on a trip to St. Louis where they visited the zoo, and the planetarium which had a lot of physical science experiments and astronomy. They ended the day by eating at Union Station. The other trip was to Sugar Creek in Crawfordsville, Indiana where they canoed down river for 15 miles. 53 FUTURE Front row: Randy Meyer-Advisor. The money raised payed for a Spanish party held on November 28. The members ate, played games, and won prizes. On February 29, they ate at Chi-Chi's mexican restaurant. The club bought shirts and pins with the logo of their choice. At the end of the year, the club bought a sombrero and soarape for the class, and gave a $100 grant to Sheila Franzen. 56 FHA Front row-Teresa Johnson. The FHA held a fall rally at the Springfield YMCA on November 17. They also helped the kin-dergarteners make Christmas ornaments in Decmeber. Pam Eddington visited a skill shop in Pana in February, and also placed second in cake decorating. Becky Carroll held the Chapter 5A officer position of Public Relations. To conclude the year the FHA Chapter sponsored an Easter egg hunt for the three sections of kindergarten. They defeated Mulberry Grove by a score of 8-1 to become the Regional Champions. By overtaking Riverton by a score of 3-2. the Rockets advanced to the Sectional Championship. During their evaluations they received one excellent ribbon and three superior ribbons Being an enthusiastic squad, they received a spirit stick every night of their stay, and brought it home with them on the last day. They also competed at the Illinois State Fair Competition sponsored by the Coca-Cola Company on August 22, 1987.
