Sixteen 7lze Reel Captain Jerry Shalbot-Senior Halfback Jerry was our hard driving halfback. He could play almost any position in the back- field. He was used especially on the end runs and off-tackle drives. Jerry will be missed greatly next year. Lynis Cassidy-Junior Halfback Lynis was small but extremely fast and aggressive. This was Lynis' first year of varsity competition, and next year he should be a key man in the Nokomis of- fense. Herschel Logsdon-Junior Fullback Hersch played halfback as well as full- back. He was the fastest man on the team. Hersch had a bad knee which kept him out of several games. George Reed-Sophomore Quarterback George was the smallest n1an on the team but made up for this with his tricky ball handling and bullet passes. George also handled the punting chores for the Redskins. Bob Graham-Sophomore End Bob played end until he was sidelined by a hip injury in the St, lilmo game. His best game was the Moweaqua game. Stanley Archibald-Junior End Stan was our regular left end. He was a good defensive man well as a pass mic-litt'. He played his best game against Shelbyville. Rusdell Mindrup-Senior Tackle Russell won a starting berth with his defensive ability and also his willingness to work hard. Russel1's size and exper- ience made him a hard man to stop. Jack Rhodes-Senior Guard .Tack was a very good defensive man. He played his best game against Pana. He was always at his best when the going was toughest, Charles Landers-Junior Guard Bud did a swell job holding down his guard position and was seen on almost every tackle in the line. Bud has an- other good year of football ahead. Gilbert Meiners-Senior Tackle Gib earned his first football letter this year.
