And embracing in our view As the land and sea’s expanse Self-forgetful in a vision See the world, a field Elysian, And then make our vision true. B. B. Senior Class History A very important event occuried in the lives of a number of young boys and girls on September 3, 1917. Some forty-two boys and girls entered the Nokomis High School and received from the other classes the compliments of being the most verdant class that had ever entered the High School. Of course they did not keep this opinion of us very long for we soon proved to be “Not so green as we were cabbage looking.” Since then this class has continued upon the great highway of knowledge and has become in turn the wise Sophomores, the Proud Juniors, and the Dignified (?) Seniors. In our career through High School we have met with the usual hard knocks, but our pleasures have been more numerous than our disappointments. We shall be able to look back upon our High School days with great joy, and especially shall we remember the jovial Mr. Thacker, who was the only teacher to remain with us during our entire four years of High School life. Some of our members have left us to enter other schools or other walks of life and others have come to fill some of the vacant places, until now our class number thirty-six and is destined to be the largest class to graduate from the N. T. H. S. So we are leaving our places to be filled by others who, we hope, will pass them on and on forever or until the sun rises in the west and sets in the east.
