Second-place winners were J' oan Tompkins, Informative Speakingg and Cindy Curlin and Karen Fuller, Spelling. Gloria Foster, Mike Milburn, and Scott Bell made up the One-Act Play cast. Gloria placed on the All-Star cast. It looks like Libby Fenoglio and Donna Davis are having a hard time pushing their look-alikes, David Sharp and Warren Sawyer. Julia Medlen, Diane Duckworth, J an Sims,J an Thomas, ,T o Ann Spivy, Hope Stilwell, Gary O'Neal, Carroll Ful- ler, James Morris, and Larry Lemons proudly display their matching shirts and dresses. T WIRP WEEK The Student Council arranged traditional Twirp Week activ- ities for the week to add a little spice to the school year. This year the coronation of the Valentine Sweetheart and Beau was held on Monday, allowing them to reign through- out the week. Other activities inc1uded:Dress-Up Day, Color Day, and Dress-Alike Day. Roy Pitts and Lonnie Diehl tell dress-alikes Karen Nunneley and Marcia Atkins to give it a whirl. Joe A. Staley's and Kyle Kilcrease's hopes soar sky- high at the thought of Cindy Curlin and Debra Chapman paying for the dates.

All of these students qualified to compete in the Regional Meet at Denton. This is the largest group we have ever sent to the Regional Contest. First Row: I ack McGaughey, lst--Persuasive Speaking, Barbara Barr and Karen Nunneley, lst--Girl's Debateg Glenna Fenoglio, Debbie Sharp, Mike Milburn, and Ronnie Hill, lst--Girls' and Boys' Poetry and Proseg Second Row: Cathy Fenoglio--2nd and Holly McCall--lst, Typewritingg Susan Cardwell-- 2nd and Patsy Widlake--lst, Shorthandg Mike Ussery--lst--Debate and 2nd--Scienceg and Hall Wallis, Debate-- lst and Number Sense--lst. For the sixth straight year, Nocona won the District Literary Meet and regained possession of the Spring Trophy. The team compiled a total of 199 Points, Jacksboro placing second with 69. This is a tribute to the ability of the students and faculty because of this great scoring advantage. Nocona also sent Holly McCall and Susan Cardwell to the State Literary Meet. U.l.L. GREA TS!
