ADMINISTRATION As students we seldom come into contact with matters concerning the ad- ministration of our school system. In the past, we have accepted the im- provements in our school without much thought about how or why We were able to have these things. We, as sen- iors, after being in high school four years, have iearned that these im- provements do not just happen. They have been carefully plannedk-but how and by Whom? After a careful investigation, we find that our school is guided by a group of business men who have been chos- en by the city council. There are three men on the school board. They select a man to act as executive officer, known to us as superintendent. The duties of the Board of Education are many. They care for each problem that concerns the school system. Some of the duties of this Board include the employment of teachers, janitors, super- High School Gym. Unit visors, principals, and superintendents: the purchase of all supplies, from coal to laboratory equipment, the provision for the care, the custody, and the main- tenance of all school property. In order to carry out these tasks the Board of Education is divided into three classifications. The president, Mr. Kinz- er, supervises the teaching personnel: the secretary, Mr. Caca, has charge of the buildings and grounds: While the treasurer, Mr. Cottingham, has charge of the finances. Each of these commit- teemen makes a study of conditions and presents them for action to the en- tire Board. Mr. Watt, the superintend- ent, then sees that the decisions of the Board are carried out. Miss Wild has been appointed as clerk, bookkeeper, and office secretary. We wish to thank the administration for making the school a pleasant and wholesome place to spend our school hours.
