GIFFORD Mr. Gifford, who was appointed as President of the School Board to fill the place made vacant by Mr. Jenkins, has held that ofHce for three years. The success of the schools in that line is largely due to Mr, Gifford who has strived for the welfare of the students at all times. Besides being President of the School Board he owns a Drug Store, which is known as Gifford's Pharmacy. Prior to buying the Drug Store, Mr. Gifford was connected with the Duggar Van Zant Company of this city. Mr. Gifford has a family of two children, Virginia, who was editor of the Shadow last year and is now a freshman in Butler University, and Billy, who will enter high school next year. MR. GENTRY Mr. Gentry, the Secretary of the School Board, has served in that capacity for more than ten years, which proves to us that no better secretary could be found for serving on the School Board. His willing- ness to do all he can for the welfare of the school has earned him a high place as a friend of the students. He is a member of the law firm Gentry, Cloe EB Campbell. Three daughters of Mr. Gentry, Louise, Esther, and Josephine have graduated from Nobles- ville High School during his term of office. Louise and Esther are both graduates of DePauw, and Josephine is now in her first year at that college. Louise. his oldest daughter, was a teacher of English in the High School two years ago. MR. HANKLEY N, Mr. Hankley is serving his third term as a mem- ber of the School Board, having been appointed the Treasurer. When Mr. Findley resigned as Treasurer of the School Board, and Mr. Hankley was appointed to take his place, it was not long before Mr. Hankley proved that a wise selection had been made. Other than performing his duties as a member of the School Board, Mr. Hankley is a member of the firm of Hill Company which deals in furniture. Mr. Hankley has one daughter Marie Hankley Wild, who is also a former editor of the School annual. The Treasurer of the School Board, strives to do everything that will be for the betterment for the school and community and he is indeed a competent member of the School Board. 4 X :..k,.p.. .,., .
