PROPHECY FOR THE CLASS OF '49 10' A few days ago I moved back to my old home-town, Noble, which is now a great metropolis in Southern Illinois. The class of '49 was having a reunion. It was held in the Sparkling Lights Night Club, which is owned and operated by the wealthy Gene Middleton. His featured singer is Hazel McDowell Qformerlyi, While there I found the following information about my classmates: Marian Callahan CRingD, is living on a nice little 2,000 acre ranch in Colorado, with Jim of course. Herman Hudson is another Artie Shawg he is in his Beverly Hills home now awaiting his 8th divorce and 9th marriage. Pauline Fulk is running 3 little Handy Fixit Shop on Walnut Street. Her motto is We can fix anything. In case you're wondering who owns the nice new airport just outside of Noble, it is Bill Pat Shafer. Ever since he was in high school he has wanted to become a great pilot. Jerry Anderson now owns the International Trucking Line. He can give you trucking service anywhere from Maine to California. Jerry Black is now better known as Coach Black. Jerry coaches the athletics at the Main Street High School. His basketball team is undefeated so far this Year. Freddie Long is in business for himself. He owns a group of chain stores, which are located in all the big cities. His most efficient private secretary is Pauline Kinkade. Melvin Osterman is now a well known public speaker. He speaks at all the Noble High School -Commencements. Irvin Schueler isn't seen around town very often. He has a 900 acre farm northwest of Noble. He spends most of his time taking care of it. It was rated one of the best farms in Southern Illinois in a recent survey. . Jim Poorman is a mortician in the Noble Funeral Home. I guess he just wanted .to follow in his father's footsteps. Bonnie Cummins is married and lives on a small farm southwest of Noble. Mary Ellen Dugan seemed to like her work. She now owns the much enlarged Noble Diner. Her head waitress is Connie Long, James Edmiston is a big movie producer out in Hollywood. His latest picture is Now or Never. Loyd Mason is the county sheriff of Richland County. You'd better watch out or he will get you. Pat Hood seems to be doing quite well for herself. She is married and lives in L very rltzy penthouse on one of our nicest apartment houses, Nova Mason is now a lady doctor.
