CAPTAIN'S MESSAGE To me, a stranger in the Amphibious Force, our past cruise to WesPac was most enjoyable. Operating under difficult rules, revisiting old ports of call, made the time pass rapidly. We left the West Coast with a line ship and returned with it in the same condition. The credit for that goes to the NOBLE's fine crew. To all hands I say, Well Done.

YT -'V' ' An n u' -3:1i .. s I N' N' ' ' ,,,,,H - - ,, We can say with pride that the job has been well done. The wide variety of tasks assigned the NOBLE have tested our ability in almost every phase of Amphibious Warfareg from Flagship duty at Koje-Do to house-boat for ComNavPhil's Hong Kong tour and on northward to Hokkaido and Chigasaki with General Cus- ter's SEVENTH CAVALRY RErGIMENTg the NOBLE has been tested and has proved herself capable -of meeting every re- quirement. i Many of us had much to learn on that stormy July day when we sailed under the Golden Gate Bridge, but every man has learned his job well and demonstrated a keen awareness of all problems. We have built ourselves into a strong combat team and the re- sults have been gratifying. Each of us can be proud to know that he contributed his part to our standing of EXCELLENT. It has been a happy cruise and a successful one. I have been proud to serve on board with every one of you, and wish each man success in the future. Q L. L.
