Dr. Sam A. Nixon, Dr. W. G. Millington, Welly M. Gibson, Amel Lewis, Felton Wake, Mrs. Lucy Davis, and T. F. Hewell. For this job no man need apply who is not willing to work without remuneration. Many tireless hours they spend in solving the problems of our school. They are not satisfied with preserving the status quo but are constantly working toward better conceptions and higher achievements. They know that they are responsible to all citizens, but their primary interest is the student. Theirfarsightedness, loyalty, and civic-mindedness makes their services invaluable to our school and community. There is no way to measure their contributions which are given so freely and without any thought of reward. Their reward is in doing. The modern school plant and its facilities stand as a monument to our SCHOOL BOARD and an honor to our community. However, the benevolent contributions to the improvement and the added opportunity of youth is far more durable and attractive than all the physical structure. Because of the inspiration, the boundless efforts, the services rendered, and the sincere desire for the welfare of our student body and our community, we honor our SCHOOL BOARD by dedi- cating the 1960 edition of The Lair to them.
