SANTROCK To the Seniors of I960: Our first thought of Nitro High School is of the physical features: the beautiful yellow brick building, gymnasium, library, halls, etc. Yes, these physical characteristics are important to Nitro High School, but of more importance are the students who roam these hails of that physical plant. The poet has said, Not what we have, but what we use, Not what we see, but what we choose. These are the things that mar or bless The sum of human happiness. One of the fundamental purposes of education is to develop and make you a well-rounded individual. Nitro High School has constantly striven to provide opportunity for the individual to grow and achieve full realization of his potentalities. Seniors, may I congratulate you collectively on your fine accomplishments. You have come through with flying colors. Each of you must be proud, and you de- serve to be proud. You must continue to make the most of your opportunities and not let them go by default. You have made a most promising start in life. May your lives fulfill this promise, and may they also serve as an inspiration to other students following in your footsteps.
