Stayte Ay soon upon the stage of life, Sweet, happy children, you will rise, To mingle in its care and strife, Or early find the peaceful skies. Then be it yours, while you pursue The golden moments, quick to haste Some noble work of love to do, Nor suffer one bright hour to waste. School is Out 2 David Clement Colesworthy

‘Dedication JOSEPH L. BARGER We, the seniors of Nitro High, affectionately dedicate our annual, “The Wild- cat” to Mr. Joseph Barger in appreciation of all the many worthwhile contributions he has made both to the school and the student body. Chief among these have been the many skills imparted to his students. Skills that have enriched the lives of his students and served some as a basis for employment. When Mr. Barger came to Nitro about twenty-one years ago the only thing offered in the Industrial Arts Department was Woodworking. Mr. Barger gradually built it up into a General Shop, consisting of Foundry, Sheetmetal, Forging, Pottery, Printing and Drawing. His schedule was so filled at one time he taught mechanical drawing during his lunch hour. Evidence of his handiwork could be seen throughout the old school building. He saved the school a considerable amount of money over a long period by doing the school printing. A source of pride to all the school is the beautiful trophy displayed in the main hall. Mr. Barger has made many tangible contributions to our school, hut what we'll remember most vividly will be his hearty laugh and his ability to tell a gcxxl story.
