Dedication Mr. Fay Harper, Science Teacher People who merely do the job for which they are paid seldom gain much recognition from their fellow men. But when an individ- ual is ever ready and willing to give his time unselfishly to the or- ganization which employs him he immediately stands out from the crowd. There are few people in any walk of life who are as willing to help out when needed as is Mr. Fay Harper, whose hearty laugh is known to every student in Nitro High School. He never says “No” when students or teachers ask him to give of his time or his talent in furthering the interests of the school. Each morning at 7:20 one can find him on duty in the gym- nasium supervising early-arriving bus students; throughout the noon hour he serves as cashier in the cafeteria. At every basketball and football game he collects tickets. When the band goes on a trip he acts as a faculty supervisor one one of the busses. At 5:30 or 6 o'clock each evening, long after all other teachers have gone home, one can usually find him working in his laboratory, setting up ap- paratus for the next day’s experiments in physics and chemistry. In appreciation of Mr. Harper’s great contribution to the op- eration of Nitro High School, the senior class proudly dedicates to him this, the 1955 edition of the Wildcat. 4
