We were freshmen then. We elected George Martin for our president, and ack Stone for student council representative. It seems it was no time at all before we were sophomores. We were mischievous and gay so that helped the year along. Cur class of- ficers were Tapley Daughtery, president; and Anna Mary Crewdson, student council represen- tative. That year quickly rolled by and we were now called juniors. We were very jolly juniors. Our class officers were Charles Davis, president; Jean Mullins, vice president; Frenc- hie Estep, secretary-treasure; and Bob Brick was student council representative. The most important event of our junior year was the ordering of our class rings for the next year. To earn money for the Jr. - Sr. prom we sold Christmas caris and statio- nery, and sponsored a movie Forever and a Day. Charles Davis was elected president of the student council for the coming year. . CLASS The time is several years after the graduation of 45. Several of our school mates have wandered off in the country mostly in no man’s land We will start now and try to tell you where most of them are and what they are doing. Betty Lou Tinsley is a very successful housewife. She saves time to write her husband in the service. Lois Spence is known from coast to coast as the world’s number one opera singer. Betty Jane Turley is now employed by WCHS. She is the second Judy Garland. Jean Mullins finally married the butcher boy. She has quite a task keeping his aprons and caps in a good starchy stage. Winona Stover is one of the best girl pilots in the United States. She travels from New York to San Francisco once a month. I wonder what the special attraction is. Mary Lou Reinacher is now working in Washington as one of the govern- ment gals. She always dreamed of being the president’s wife. May the door of success fling wide to admit her. Betty Woods, Nitro’s number one heart breaker, now carries the title of Sweetheart of the Navy. I wonder if Captain Cook had anything to do with that. Reba Lanham now has her own radio program over station PHEW. Her pro- gram is We, the Morons.” Eloise Turley is now down in Texas recovering from wounds she received while serving overseas with the Waves. Junior Showen took Roy Acuff’s place on the radio. He sings ”Let me Take Away Your Morning Blues” every morning at 5:30. Len Bailey lives on a farm out west. He is trying to raise a starch- less potato for potato lovers who have to watch their weight. Joe Mattox entered a very striving business after he was honorably discharged from the Navy. He is trying to find the temper that people lose. He owns his own chemistry room. Isabelle Saunders owns a hat designing shop in New York. What she doesn’t put on hats these days isn’t worth speaking of, but as she says. ”They sell.” 9 Edra Workman, wno has spent most of her time pining and waiting for thj long lost Wayne Lamb, is now his blushing bride. Dorothy Lewis has recently hit the top. She is ’’Miss Sweater Girl of ’ 55. Helen Halley’s ambition was to have a family. It turned out tc be a rather profitable. She is editor of Parent’s Magazine and writes many in- teresting articles for the Ladies’ Home Journal and Better Homes and Gar- dens. ---------------------- Norma Newland joined the Waacs. Strictly by misfortune she was stuck with the cavalry and had to be satisfied. After the war she wrote a book entitled Six Months in the Saddle. Crystle Harmon is running the ’White Funeral Home. The sign above the door says, ’’Quick, efficient service and money-back quarrantee.” (Continued on Page 39)
