FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT'S DESK Nov is the time for clear thinking You the teen ager of today are no longer the prob- lem of civilization bat the 'hope of tomor row' We must be alert and on our toes at all times Citizenship today more than ever before is faced by the need of insight critical mind ednese and tolerance We are constantly con fronted with propaganda bribery censorship and pulsion These we must be able to face eouarely vithan open but critical mind intimee such as these when totalitarian governments are attempting to spread their influence Much of our social environment infllences us to substitute established ideas for think- ing Many of the forces of society tend to pro duce people uho conform without questioning We must be independent thinkers and not conformists accepting and repeating the first idea we may hear or read Clear thinking is a must for survival as a free nation I 3 B t ?
