A-Band This year we have seen a series of excellent performances given by our band. They performed at every football game, gave several concerts and played at pep rallies. They were invited to the opening of the Dallas-Ft. Worth Regional Airport to play the National Anthem along with the other two Irving high school bands. They also performed pre-game at one of the S.M.U. games and gave a special concert for the Nimitz High Booster Club. The songs included: Joy To The World, The First Time Ever l Saw Your Face, Rock Salt, Down By The Lazy River, and St. James Infirmary. In August the band had two members attend camp at the University of Texas, Arlington, Ron Lindig and Mike Edwards. While there they learned to take voice commands and also learned whistle commands. ln October they attended the Bell Marching Festival and in November attended the U.I.L. contest.
