1984-'85 school year came to a close with many memories still fondling in the heart of so many. For some, it was the sensation of making lots of friends - a practice that is instrumental in Cougar Pride. For others, it was the excitement of our extraordinary football team. We remember Easy Randy Street nnouncing at our pep rally that the Coogs were the 79Q Team Of The Week. Our Coogs finished the season with an impressive 7-3 record. The Coogs are on the prowl! From now on the Nimitz Cougars will be a force to be reckoned with, Many of us associate this year as 'lThe Year of the Dances. In early january, the students were welcomed with a distinctly unfamiliar friend - SNOW! Out of 1650 students, 652 stayed home to play. Christmas time was also a time for our organizations to give to the needy. The students had a food drive for the poor and gave to Toys for Tots. The memories will be cherished forever, but we must look toward the future. There is a special message for everyone. To the graduating Seniors of 1984-85, you finally made it, but don't give up, it's really only the beginning. You must set your goals in life now, and then set out to obtain them. just remember, lf you can't be the moon, be a star, but be the best of whatever you are. To all returning Cougars, for you, life might be a struggle, but you must persevere. You can still create your future and destiny. However, time is the only thing that can never be retrieved. Remember, people don't plan to fail - they fail to plan. You must stand strong in your convictions, and keep reaching for the stars. The statement, The Coogs are on the Prowl, is not just a theme, it's a way of existing. lt's a signal that we are no longer satisfied with being a follower, we want to be the leader!
