it lt's More Than Styling, Cutting Hair NDon't cut too much off. UI want a soft perm but only on top. 'My nails are a disaster zone. Those were just a few of the echoes heard in the Nimitz Cosmetology room. ln a few short words, people go into the Cosmetology room and expect miracles. Miracles are then performed, with the knowledge to create new and exciting looks. President Tracey LaFreniere said, 'Cosmetology isn't just styling hair, but the knowledge and prac- tice to achieve the final step, a cosmetologist. lt gets frustrating at times but in the end l know it will pay off. The girls held a fashion show in the Nimitz auditorium in the month of january. The girls worked hard to get ready for the show. Water Polo Experience, Knowledge Gained. One of the newest clubs organized at Nimitz is the first Water Polo Teams. Water Polo has been given club status and not recognized as a sport because it isn't backed by U.l.L. rules. Before becoming a member of this new organization one must have knowledge of how to play soccer and most impor- tant, be a member of the swim team. Ms. Mari Kaufman, Head Sponsor, was excited about the enthusiam from the members. She believes all three of her teams did well considering this was Nimitz's first year. The phrase up and coming could easily describe the teams. With all three teams mainly consisting of Sophomores and juniors, and carrying a large amount of the weight, this was the year to gain a lot of experience. Their record was 1-3. Water Polo is a rough and tiring sport, said Varsity Goalie Bryan Shipman.
