ath! Science - Solving for Answers ontinuing the traditions of Nimitz at U.l.L. Regional since the school open- the Math!Science teams have of things to be proud of. The spent long hours practicing learning shortcuts to tests. A deal of time and effort went in- preparing for competitions. like Doug Venverloh, Mark Eva loe, limmy Vaughan, and Garrett, placed several times at meets. McClenny said, The teams plenty of time for growth and 'nent considering they have year left until graduation. Being a member of The Olympic's of the is an honor and rewards are en- countered. One is the fact of two great ad- visors, Anne Hazzan and Frank McClenny, the other is this club is a national club sponsored by a Local Chapter of the National Organiza- tion. There are two phases of competition: long term and short problem. The long term is where each team selects one of five problems ranging from robotics, ecology, future pro- blems, structural engineering, or even vehicle design with problems changing each year. The short problem is where the team gives a solu- tion of a shorter problem and usually has one minute for preparation. Drafting -- Future Architects Prepare Composing detailed drawings and layouts and lettering are just two of the skills students in Drafting develop. They work with drawings of piping, thread, nuts, and bolts. Their goals require extra hard work, a great deal of concentration, and well developed assertiveness.
