The theme deals with the effects of a young man's death on a family and coping with the sudden loss of a lov- ed one. The cast experienced many phases of emotions and thoughts as they developed their characters. This play examined the different responses from different members of the family group. All the Way Home included humor admidst the tragic situation. The play brought across the message that life must go on - a message 164 Organizations ad Mosel's drama All the Way Home was brought to life as members of the Nimitz that is very true. A very true-to-life play incorporates many aspects that nearly all people at some point in their life must deal with. Based on the novel A Death in the Family, by lames Agee, All the Way Home gave the drama students the op- portunity to portray very real characters in a tragic situation. Excellent perfor- mances were given by Angie Scott, Wade Hescht, Stuart Burson and Yvette Hutchins. Rather than choose a new play and recast for U.l.L. one act play competi- tion, director Karen Stewart spent many hours cutting the full length version of the show down to a 40 minute workable one-act. Led by lead actress 'The play brought across the message that life must go - a message that is very true.' Angie Scott, the cast presented their one-act version of All the Way Home at MacArthur High School for competition. Angela Scott gave her farewell perfor- mance as Mary Follett in the show. For the past four years, Angie has been one of the most active members of the Nimitz Drama Department and a three year member of Thespians. Stuart Bur- son and Kim Hopkins also experienced their last year in Drama this year. ln addition to working under Karen Stewart, the cast and crew had the opportunity to work with drafting teacher Cynthia Helms. Mrs. Helms aided the students with costume ideas and hair designs. As the curtain closes, members of the cast knew that they were on their way home.
