- T1-1 Band - Being a member of the Roaring Cougar Band takes plenty of dedication, pride, and hard work. This year the members upheld their reputation as they com- peted in several different contests and came out on top. At Tropicana Music Bowl, the band was selected as one of the finalists in the open class competition. At concert and sighting reading contest, the band brought L nwviffilvn it T ssil, lli 'X The Blue and Gold Does It Again! home 118 solos and ensem- ble awards not to mention l division ratings. The band went to Six Flags for their trip, there they received I division ratings. 'lThe trip was great and a lot of fun, said Senior Member Kirston Belson. Throughout the year, the band performed specially at the ground-breaking ceremony for the Hardy Toll H K g ..,, - - qs ' Tl 1 C K 'ig 1. Before playing at the Wyndham Hotel, Mike Harrelson fixes his bow tie. 2. THE ALL-DISTRICT IAZZ BAND MEMBERSHIP - Danny Hopkins, Alex Hemphill, Rody 144 Organizations Ka N ,ga Q if Lyhky , I .,., Hillman 3. All-Area Band Member Rody Hillman. 4. The band plays at the Hardy Toll Road opening ceremony. Road, at the Wyndham Hotel for the Chrysler Cor- poration, and at Deerbrook Mall. Once again the Band was invited to perform at the Bluebonnet Bowl in which they shared the halftime show with the TCU band. The band owes a lot of thanks to the Band Booster Club for standing behind them in good and bad times.

-- Mascots Dressed to Roar Energetic, brave, crazy, and daring are just a few words used to describe this year's Mascots and Cougar Crew. Mascot's,are the special people who provide entertainment to people of all ages while spark- ing spirit and good sportsmanship all at once. This year's mascots include, 3-year veteran, Dana Carpenter, 2-year veteran, layna Glidden, and newcomer Tasha Denton. Each of the girls sup- ply plenty of laughter and enjoyment for all foot- ball and basketball fans, while on the other hand, supplied headaches for the Cougar Crew. The Cougar Crew is responsible for many things. The female members put up signs for the football game as well as escorting the cougar around the stadium. The male members not only guard the Cougar, but perform stunts with the cheerleaders, All members are responsible for putting the run-through sign on and off the bus and holding it as well for the HUNGRY COUGARS to tear through it.
