Players Love Tennis This year's tennis teams as Coach Rinda Koppitz said, is the best group of tennis players overall!! The girls' tennis team placed first in district with the boys' team finishing second. Most Valuable and Outstanding Players leff Wilhelm and Billy Pate placed first in district doubles competition. Coach Koppitz has a great outlook for next year - UI look forward to boys and girls winning team tennis. They have the overall desire from 111 through the last person on the ladder to get bet- ter. Nimitz Aquatics: A Year Round Sports To most people, swimming is a summer sport. But to the Nimitz Aquatics Team, swimming is a year round sport. This year's team did extremely well, with the girls' team placing first in distrct and the boys swimming in second. This made Nimitz history for the girls placing second. MVP, Karen Schwartz, led the girls' team in the district meet, placing 1st in butter- fly and 1st in the medley relay with the help from Dena Qvfeggf,,w Livergood, Layla Loria, and Tish Jordan. Bryan Shipman, MVP male, placed first in the breaststroke and 100 freestyle. Coach Mari Kaufman is very proud of this year's team. They had plenty of energy, she stated. Coach Kaufman has a positive outlook for the team next year. llLots of strong freshmen and sophomores are returning, she said, ULOOKS COOD!!l 1.
