Besi Team, Besi Season Under the coaching of Miss Sharon McCain, the girl's varsi- ty volleyball team was 9-3. Beating Aldine both times met, and splitting the season with MacArthur helped their season. Coach McCain stated, 'LMy team is the best team, and nothing can change that? Four girls from the varsity team made district. They were Linda Urbanek and Theresa Crowson, seniors, Cassie Essary, junior, and Sandra Tillis, sophomore. The practices were full of run- 208 Sports ning, serving, and agility drills. Though there were no outstanding players, everybody played exceptional as in- dividuals, and as a teamf' replied Coach McCain. The teams record was an im- provement over last years 6-10 season or the 1979 season, 3-13. There were no weaknesses on the team, but the strong points were the superb team work and the devotion of the girls. Ex- perience was a major factor in the season, and will be a strong factor next year. Q1
