H.E.R.O. Heroes of the Kitchen Things really started cooking for the H.E.R.O. Club when the members made a Thanksgiving meal for their family and friends. These students also prepared afternoon meals for the teachers and office administration here at Nimitz on a regular basis. Members of the club also served as hostesses for special guests who visited the school. H.E.R.O.'s fund raiser for 1981 was the selling of cookbooks and this money was used to send some of the club members to a state meeting. Donna McGee was one of the six finalists from the city of Houston to enter the Rice-on-the-Range cook off. This competition was sponsored by the Blue Ribbon Pics Company. Organizations
