Primary responsibilities of G-2 include manning the Ship's Armory, maintaining all small arms, and repair and maintenance of 40 magazine sprinkler systems. G-2 also familiarizes and qualifies naval aviators and NIMITZ' crew in the use of small arms. Controlling access to magazines, responding to breaches in security, and providing line gunnersv for underway replenishment are but a few ofthe many responsibilities that G-2 upholds.
