The MFIVE STAR PHOTOGRAPHIC LAB is com- prised of 26 Photographer's Mates and four Illustrator Draftsman who support a multitude of assigned tasks for the ship, air wing and battle group. Operating two photo labs, the men and women of OP Division record the ability of NIMITZ and its air wing to project power. The main photo lab captures the action on the flight deck and the several hundred people required to ready the ship and aircraft for launch and recovery. .They alS0 document the everyday motions of people on NIMITZ, whether it's aircraft maintenance, cooking meals, washing clothes, preventive maintenance, dropping anchor, fepalfmg gear, re-enlistments, awards, promotions or public affairs photographs. The second photo lab is located in the Intelligence Center, providing support to the tactical air reconnaissance and surface surveillance missions provided by Air Wing NINE's potent team. t During this Western Pacific, Indian Ocean and Persian Gulf Deployment the photog- raphers of OP Division produced over half a million photographs in support of this mission, and the men and women of iii r I NIMITZININE. of The Photographers of OP Division truly maintain a amake it happenv attitude and are proud to be part of The Finest Photographic Laboratory Afloat. Q Q Q CQ Division is composed of Electronic War- fare Technicians CEWSD Who both operate and main- tain sensitive electronic detection and countermea- sures equipment. The EW module, an integral part of the combat team, provides detection of threats to the ship and coordinates localization of threat emit- ters for the entire battle group as the Electronic Warfare Control Center.
