Enright, a native ofMcLean, Virginia, graduated from the United StatesNav al Academy in June 1 9 7 1 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Physics. He subsequently attended nuclear power training atBainbridge, Maryland, and West Milton, New York. In October 1972, following completion of submarine school in Groton, Connecticut, he reported to USS RAY CSSN 6535 where he served as Reactor Controls Assistant, Electrical Officer, and Damage Control Assistant. During his tour on RAY, Captain Enright participated in two North Atlantic and two Mediterranean deployments and completed submarine and Engineer Officer qualifica- tions. . ' In April 1976, after attending the Submarine Officer Advanced Course at Submarine School, Captain Enright reported to USS SAM HOUSTON CSSBN 6095 CGold5 where he served as Engineer Officer. for six polaris deterrent patrols. Upon completion of this tour in August 1979, he reported to the Nuclear Propulsion Examining Board on the staff of the Commander-In-Chief, U.S. Pacific Fleet. Following completion of Prospective Executive Officer training in May 1982, Captain Enright reported to USS MARIAN O G. VALLEJ O CSSBN 6585 CGold5 Where he served as Executive Officer. During this tour he completed two Trident deterrent patrols, an eighteen month refueling overhaul at Charleston Naval Shipyard and post-overhaul shakedown operations. In July 1985, Captain Enright reported to the Staff ofthe Director of Naval Nuclear Propulsion, U.S. Department of Energy, Washington, D.C., where he served as the Assistant for Enlisted Personnel and Training. After completion of Prospective Commanding Officer training, Captain Enright took command of USS HONOLULU ISSN 7 185 in May 1988. During his tour, Honolulu completed a Western Pacific deployment, two extended Northern Pacific operations and an Eastern Pacific deployment, and was twice awarded the Battle Efficiency E , From July 1991 to May 1993, Captain Enright served as the Deputy Director of the Submarine and Nuclear Power Division CPERS 425 of the Bureau of Naval Personnel. Captain Enright then served as Commander, Submarine Squadron SEVEN in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, from June 1993 to June 1995 before reporting in July 1995 as Chief of Staff, Carrier Group SEVEN. Captain Enrightis awards include the Legion of . Merit ftwo awards5, Meritorious Service Medal Cthree awards5, Navy Commendation Medal I three aWards5. and various unit and camnaign awards, V Captain Enright, his wife, Judi, and their two chil- dren, Amanda and Joseph, currently reside in Coronado, California. Commanding Officer USS NIMITZ H Captain A.G. Harms, Jr. Captain Alfred G. Harms, Jr. is a native of central Illinois and graduated from the University of Illinois in 1971. He commissioned through the NROTC Program and was designated a Naval Flight Officer in May 1972. g 4 Captain Harms was first assigned to Attack Squadron ONE TWO EIGHT in Vifhidbey Island, Wa.shiington for fleet in the A-6 Intruder aircraft. He then joined Attack Squadron ONE FOUR FIVE in February 1973 and made two WestPac aboard USS RANGERCCV 615. In June 1975, he transferred to Texas ASLM University, College Station, Texas, Where he served as NROTC instructor and completed a Master of Science Degree in Statistics. In August 1978, Captain Harms reported to Attack Squadron FOUR TWO in Virginia Beach, Virgdnia for A-6 trainin . He then 'oined Attack S uadron ONE SEVEN SIX aboard USS INDEPENDENCECCV 625 and made both Mediterranean Maryland in June 198 1, he subsequently served at the Strike Aircraft Test Directorate ofthe Naval Air Test Center where he directed ordnance separation and advanced technology avionics projects. During this time, ENTERPRISE completed a change ofhomeport California to Norfolk, Virginia, and commenced a 4-year nuclear refuelinglcomplex overhaul at the Newport News Shipbuilding Drydock Company, Newport News, Virginia. Captain Harms graduated from the NATO Defense College in Rome, Italy in July 1992. He their commanded SHREVEPORTCLPD 125'from December 1992 to May 1994, and deployed to the Mediterranean Sea and Indian Ocean in of peacekeeping and humanitarian reliefoperations in both Bosnia!Hersegovina and Somalia. He assumed command NIMITZ KCVN 685 on 26 August, 1994. r Captain Harms has accumulated over 3,000 flight hours and flown more than 20 models of tactical military aircraft during career. His personal awards include the Legion of Merit, the Meritorious Service Medal Ctwo awards5 and various other and unit commendations. He and his wife, Gina, reside in Bremerton, Washington. They have four children: KevinCLT, U.S- N BradC2nd LT, USMC5, Andy and Karen.
