1-Eperations Electronics KOED Function is responsible for the maintenance repair and ca 1 ration of extremely complex and sophisticated combat systems. It includes highly-trained llmsgrlilliciains ripresenting five of the N avy's ratings. The function consists of 19 work centers, dl l ' g our istinct divisions, all under the purview of the Electronics Material Officer. The 1v1s1ons are Communications and Navigation Systems COECJ, Data Systems COEDJ, Radar and Television Repair COERD and Fire Control Systems COEMD. LT J . Falkner ETCS M. Rasmussen ET1 P. Moore Operations Elec- tronics Communications KOECJ is respon- sible for all maintenance and repair to the NIMITZ communications and navigation equipment. Our division's motto is you can talk about us-but you can't talk without us! OE02 - Shop 1. These hard-working technicians maintain all high-frequency radios, SAS secure red phone communications and all weather equipment. OE06 - Copier!Typewriter Repair. These IMS and ETs keep our office equipment up and running. With over 70 copiers to maintain, they often keep a hectic pace to guarantee timely customer service. OE08 - Mouse Shop. These ETS maintain a vast amount of communications equipment. This includes our flight deck mouse ears, satellite equipment, ship- to-ship, ship-to-air, and all wireless internal shipboard communications. Last but definitely not least, they maintain our Sprint telephone system, allowing the crew to talk to loved ones back home. OE 10 - CRFINAVMACSITACAN. This shop is responsible for the maintenance of all cryptologic, secure communication, message traffic, and TACAN equipment. OE14 - SINS. The Ship's Inertial Navigation System repair shop keeps NIMITZ' navigational equipment operating. They ensure we know our speed and location anywhere in the world.
