DDC if f ix z GDC Division's primary responsibility is to provide the ship with rapid, reliable and secure communications facilities 24 hours a day, 355 days a year. 'llhe heart and soull' of ODC Division is the Main Communications space which is manned by personnel in the Radioman CRMD rating. The RMs are skilled communicators capable of properly operating a multitude of communications devices which support nearly all tactical voice and data communications between NIMITZ and members of the battle group, local area Commanders as Well as national command authorities situated around the World. During the 1995-96 deployment, the RMS typically Oversee the proper operation of more than 50 voice communications circuits and handled in excess of 1,500 narrative data messages daily. l .
