The NIMITZ Security Division is comprised of various ratings and paygrades, in addition to rated Master-At-Arms, trained to protect the crew and Ship' Staying ahead of an ever-changing security environment, the Security Division provides state-of-the-art afloat security programs, includ- ing patrol, crime analysislinvestigation, antifcounter-terrorism teams and physical security supervision. When deployed they serve Beach Guard duty, augment Shore Patrol, and serve as Command Customs Inspectors. p Their motto is, To Serve and Protect? As well as the Security Division, the Security Officer is in charge of the Shipis Brig Staff which provides corrections programs and super- Vjses a confinement facility for up to 17 prisoners. The NIMITZ Correc- tions Program strives to rehabilitate prisoners through a strict regimen of daily routine, counseling and general military training.
