The Electrical Officer is assisted by the Electrical Technical Assistant, CWO3 Goo anilT'gvoFd1v1s1Ion officers, LTJ G Foster and ENS VVhitford. Electrical Division is responsible for the largest part of real estate on NIM I rom I ow o stern, fromthe elghth deck to the top of the mast, the division operates and maintains thousands of pieces of electrical equipment. The division has 11 Work centers. I , , The Aviation and Ordnance work center is responsible for maintaining 40OHZ motor generators, aircraft electrical service stations, aircraft elevators, hangar bay doors and AF FF stations. I I I I I I I The Hotel and Power Shop maintains all underway replenishment Winches, a1rfC0nfl1t10n1ng units, fire pumps, Conveyors, laundry, galley equipment, and degaussing. The Lighting Shop maintains all l15V circuits and responds daily to a staggering number of trouble calls. They constantly work on electrical repairs or habitability upgrades. The Interior Commumcationis Q05 technicians maintain systems which keep the NIMITZ crew informed and ship on'a steady course. The Forward IC Shop is responsible for hundreds of alarms, two ship's gyro compasses, wind birds, and the underwater log. Without them, NIMITZ could not sail a true course, determine true wind for flight operations, or measure the ship's speed through the water. The Aft IC Shop is responsible for the shipis telephone systems and all internal announcing systems CIMC, 3MC and 5MCJ.
