Third Division, the Small Boats Divisionf, oper- ates, maintains and dispatches the Captain's Gig, the Port Motor Whaleboat, and the Utility Boat. With the exception of the Motor Whale Boats, all boats are on and off-loaded using Third Division's boat and aircraft crane. Third Division is also responsible for boat booms three and four, which are used when the ship is at anchor. Third Division also operates a cargo UNREP station and a fueling station. Other divisional duties include the upkeep of the stern liberty ladder, the fantail, the port yard and stay, and towing the spar for aircraft bombing and strafing runs. LTJ G A. Mbuthia BMC A.
